Because Christianity Is More Than Being a Spectator!
As Luther sought to reclaim the faith from the cultural corruption his church had unconsciously begun to embrace over the centuries, his work was less a radical new beginning than it was a re-formation in the truest term - a return to the essence of what the church had been in its noble past. - Chuck Colson
After voicing concerns through normal channels with no success, some members at a nationally known church with a multi-million dollar budget didn't passively sit by when their recently hired senior pastor attempted to expand his authority and control by amending the church by-laws. Instead, they set up a web site to distribute detailed information on the changes being sought and the ramifications, if implemented. The senior pastor then resigned after his takeover attempt failed, proving if there is one thing that keeps power in check it is the timely disclosure of accurate information - transparency. Are you a member of a transparent church?
